Parking in Gettysburg

Many clients have asked us where is the best place to park? Parking garage, street parking, and how to pay the fees. We wanted to be able to explain all of this as best as we could for you. Street parking is available in front of the salon and just about all throughout downtown Gettysburg. The price for on street parking is $0.25 for 10 minutes with a two-hour parking limit. You can pay with quarters, or you now have the option to use the Passport Parking app on your phone. Each meter has a blue little sign on it instructing you on how to use this app after downloading it from your app store. A little tip to keep in mind is even after you have paid on your phone, the meter itself will still flash as if it is expired. Your phone will have a notification informing you that this will happen. For more in depth information about this wonderful app and how it works, you can visit: https://www.gettysburgpa.gov/parking-department/pages/passport-parking We would like to point out that in the past years after Thanksgiving and up until New Years the parking meters outside of the salon have been free to use. (Just keep in mind that the town sometimes will still ticket if you are parked in a two-hour parking limit for longer than the allotted two hours.)

If you prefer to park off street, Gettysburg also offers a parking garage located behind the Gettysburg Hotel called Racehorse Alley Parking (RHA). This is just a short walk from the salon. Here you can park up to 24 hours for $0.75. This parking garage is open 24/7, 365 days a week. When parking in the garage you have three types of payment options to fit everyone’s needs. Option 1 is paying at the kiosk, option 2 is getting a permit. This permit is great for longer lengths of time as there is no limit as to how many times you go in and out of the parking garage. This would be a great option if you were planning to stay in Gettysburg for several days. Option 3 is the Passport Parking app that we mentioned when using street parking. It should be noted that in order to use the Passport Parking app, whether it is for street parking or for the garage, there is a minimum of one-hour parking with a convenience fee of $0.35.
